A seminar entitled "Drug Poisoning and its Relationship to Violent Crimes" was held at the Faculty of Specific Education at Port Said University on Wednesday 5/9/2018 in order to contribute in solving social problems, including harassment and violence against women under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Shams Elden Mohamed Shaheen, President of Port Said University. Prof. Dr. Maha Zakaria Abdel Rahman, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Mahmoud Mohsen, Dean of the faculty, and Dr. Rehab Abu Zeid, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development attended the seminar.
In the framework of the cooperation between Port Said University and the Canal Radio in Ismailia and its branch in Port Said Governorate, the General Administration for Students' Welfare (the Department of Cultural and Artistic Activity) in Port Said University has established a ceremony which was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Shams Elden Mohamed Shaheen, President of Port Said University and Prof. Nada El Husseini Nada, Advisor of the President of the University for student activities to give the awards of listeners in the contest of Ramadan which was organized by the University in cooperation with the Canal channel.
Prof. Dr. Shams Elden Mohamed Shaheen, President of Port Said University participated in the celebration held by the Arab Academy of Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (Port Said Branch) ) to graduate a new batch of students. This event took place in the presence of General / Adel Ghadban, Governor of Port Said and Admiral / Abdelkader Darwish Vice-President of the Economic Authority of the Suez Canal axis.The President of the University was in the reception of Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and Dr. Amal Asfour, Academic Dean of the Arab Academy of Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, Port Said Branch, and Dr. Ahmed Daoud, Captain of Port Said Engineers.
A symposium entitled "Drug Poisons and their Relationship to Violent Crimes" was held at the Faculty of Medicine, Port Said University on Wednesday, 29/8/2018. The symposium is in the frame of the role played by the university in serving the society and contributing in solving its problems, including harassment and violence against women. This is under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Shams Elden Mohamed Shaheen, President of Port Said University, prof. Dr. Maha Zakaria Abdulrahman, Vice-President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Khalid Sabry, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Professor Najla Adwar, Head of the National Council in Port Said.
In the framework of the follow-up of his field to the preparations of the faculties of the University of Port Said to receive the new academic year 2018/2019 to find out the facilities in light of the duties of Prof. Dr. Shams Elden Mohamed Shaheen, President of Port Said University to the deans of the faculties of the university, the president visited the Faculty of Medicine and was received by Prof. Dr. Khaled Sabry, dean of the faculty and Prof. Dr. Mamdouh ElNahas, head of Internal Medicine Department.
For the continuation of the series of field visits of Prof. Dr. Shams Elden Mohamed Shaheen, President of Port Said University, to the various faculties of the university to determine the readiness to receive the new academic year 2018/2019, he visited the Faculty of Commerce and was received by Prof. Dr. Galal Salem, dean of the faculty and a group of faculty members.
With the beginning of the new academic year 2018/2019 and the preparation of the University of Port Said to welcome new students in various faculties of the university, Prof. Dr. Shams Elden Mohamed Shaheen, President of Port Said University, visited the Faculty of Engineering to check on all the preparations of the faculty for the new academic year. He was received by Prof. Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Samir El-Makkawi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development. Prof. Dr. Taha Farraj, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Heba Al Kilani, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research.
The University of Port Said is a pioneer in the field of community service and holds a high level of scientific staff under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Shams Elden Mohamed Shaheen, President of Port Said University, who set the first priority for the educational process services for all proposed projects. As a result of this, the Office of the European Union for the development of education Erasmus + announced the acceptance of a project proposal for capacity building in institutions of higher education provided by a consortium of Egyptian and European universities led by the University of Port Said.

The project aims to develop the requirements of the university in Egyptian universities using information technology with help of the expertise of high educational institutions European. The consortium consists of five Egyptian government universities: Port Said, Ain Shams, Mansoura, Suez Canal, Nile National University, and three European universities from Italy and Greece, as well as the Information Technology Institute of the Ministry of Communications. The project will continue for three years with European funding of nearly one million Euros.
